It was unseasonably hot in Vancouver recently. I don’t mind hot weather, but I’d much rather hop on a plane and experience it. I’m sure you can relate.
But I am glad I got to get my new linen jacket & ultra-summery bow tie out so soon. I thought I might have to wait until summer really arrives in Vancouver (which is usually never July.)
I want to highlight the bow tie, as it’s a real beaut. It’s made by North Vancouver designer Patty Nayel, whose line is called Pure Magnolia.
Now, her website is dedicated to what seems to be the meat of her business – wedding gowns (what, not bow ties?), so you’ll need to get creative* regarding getting your mitts on one of these babies. And you should, as she’s got a real eye for a pattern that looks in bow tie-form.
***UPDATE***
Heard back from Pure Magnolia on purchasing a bow tie via this lovely blog post. All you need to do is call them: 1-778-552-6174. And if a fantastic, one-of-a-kind bow tie wasn’t enough, $10 from each sale goes to charity. Nice.
